Jungle Bag Update

I have almost finished the Jungle Bag.   I need to add some beaded detail to the flower stamens.

Then the only thing left to do will be to turn this into a small kiss clasp bag!

Project Update – Papillon Needlepoint

Happy New Year

My Mother has started to stitch on the “King Louis” Papillon needlepoint project that I gave her for Christmas.  She is using various stitch changes to accent the color changes throughout the hair.

Wild Jungle Bag Update

I had a tough time deciding what stitch to fill the white portions of the zebra stripes with.  After much testing, I decided on the stitch below.  It is a single vertical over 5 with and overlapping cross.  I think it creates a nice vertical flow along the stripe.

Book Review – Desert Island Stitches

I just purchased “Desert Island Stitches”.  This guide is written by Carole Lake and Michael Boren of StitchPlay.com.

I love the straightforward, conversational tone in the narrative of the book.  It is spiral bound so it lays nice and flat while you are stitching.  The stitches are grouped into various categories making it easy to navigate.

Labelled as “Volume One”, I will be looking forward to Volume Two.
